Mi è piaciuto il giusto, ma l’ho trovato piuttosto inconcludente, soprattutto se confrontato con altri film dello stesso genere interpretati da Nicolas Cage.
La sensazione è che manchi un pezzo, come se la storia non arrivasse davvero da nessuna parte.
Più che un film completo, sembra quasi l’episodio pilota di una serie TV, lasciando molte cose in sospeso senza un vero payoff.

In questo senso ricorda molto l’impostazione di Manifest, con un evento misterioso che apre mille domande ma senza svilupparle davvero.
Sapendo poi che è tratto da una serie di romanzi apocalittici e che esiste anche un film omonimo del 2000, si capisce perché questo capitolo sembri solo un’introduzione a qualcosa di più ampio. N

I enjoyed it adequately, but I found it rather inconclusive, especially when compared to other films in the same genre starring Nicolas Cage.
It feels like a piece is missing, as if the story isn't really getting anywhere.
More than a complete film, it almost feels like the pilot episode of a TV series, leaving many things hanging without a real payoff.

In this sense, it's very reminiscent of the setup of Manifest, with a mysterious event that raises a thousand questions but doesn't really develop them.
Knowing that it's based on a series of apocalyptic novels and that there's also a 2000 film of the same name, it's understandable why this chapter seems like just an introduction to something larger.

Overall, however, it didn't completely convince me.
